Cover: Caption for cover image of JMCB 11-11 Post-translational modification of a-tubulin contributes to cell?cell fusion. Super-resolution microscopy reveals the diversity of microtubules in human placental trophoblast cells (total α-tubulin, green; detyrosinated α-tubulin, red). Detyrosinated a-tubulin is required for trophoblast fusion. Deficiency of α-tubulin detyrosination may contribute to the onset of pregnancy-related disease, like preeclampsia. See pages 967-978 by Wang et al. for details.
