Cover: Helicase-like transcription factor (HLTF), a tumour suppressor, is significantly downregulated in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) tissues. The elevated β-TrCP mediates HLTF polyubiquitination and degradation, which contributes to p62/mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) activation, leading to HCC proliferation and metastasis. Encouragingly, an inhibitor targeting mTOR effectively blocks β-TrCP-driven liver tumourigenesis, offering a promising therapeutic approach for treating HCC. See mjad012 by Tan et al. for details.
