Cover: Downregulation of miR-148a and miR-152 in breast cancer cells is due to the DNA methylation of their promoters induced by DNMT1 overexpression. miR-148a and miR-152 suppression increases expression of their direct targets IGF-IR and IRS1 as well as DNMT1, which activates AKT and ERK signaling pathways to increase HIF-1a and VEGF expression for regulating tumor growth and angiogenesis.
