Cover: The microRNA miR-34a is regulated by the indicated transcription factors, which couple miR-34a expression to numerous cancer-relevant signaling and stress response pathways of the cell. In addition, the processing and transport of miR-34a precursors is regulated. Ultimately, the tumor suppressive effects of enhanced miR-34a expression are mediated by downregulation of target mRNA expression and/or translation. See pages 214–230 by Rokavec et al. for details.
