Cover: The checkpoint kinase CHK2 is a multifunctional enzyme whose main function is the induction of cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in response to nuclear DNA damage. When activated, CHK2 phosphorylates nuclear proteins involved in many aspects of the DNA damage response. The background is the immunofluorescence staining of DNA damage-induced nuclear foci.
