Cover: Synaptic vesicles are morphologically uniform but are differentially equipped with the vesicular proteins SV2A and SV2B and spatially sorted within the presynaptic terminal. Vesicles near the sites of release, the active zone, only show copies of SV2A. In contrast, vesicles remote to the active zone additionally carry copies of SV2B.
